Financial Aid
Take These Steps to Apply for Financial Aid:
BU SELECT Courses are FAFSA-approved. As a full-time student you may qualify for up to $12,500 in low-interest government guaranteed loan money. You also may qualify for certain grant money based on your level of income.
You may be eligible for financial aid at Bellevue University, if you meet the following criteria:
- You've earned a high school diploma or GED
- You're enrolled as a regular student working toward a degree in a eligible program
- You're a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- You have a valid Social Security number
- You meet the standards of satisfactory academic progress
- You are not in default on a previous student loan
If the above criteria are met, we ask that you complete the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online:
- To complete the FAFSA form, you will need to apply for a U.S. Department of Education Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN will allow you to sign your FAFSA electronically and to correct your processed FAFSA information online.
- Here is the information you need to apply:
- Your Social Security number
- Your driver´s license number
- Your Alien Registration number, if you are not a U.S. citizen
- Federal tax information or tax returns, including W-2 information for yourself, and your spouse if married, for the year prior to the academic year for which you are applying
- Records of untaxed income such as Social Security benefits, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Veterans benefits. Also, include information on savings, investments, and business and farm assets
- When you have your PIN and information gathered, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.bellevue.edu/financing to complete your application online. In order to do so, you will need Bellevue University's Title IV school code number which is 002538.
- After you submit your application, make sure you receive a confirmation number. This number tells you that your application has been successfully submitted. Keep it for your records.
- Your application should be processed within three weeks. At that time you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). You should review your SAR for any necessary corrections or update. If you do not receive your SAR within three weeks, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and select “Check the Status of Submitted FAFSA.”
